Fatal Athens car crash death of Amy Morgan – Obituary

Amy Morgan, 58, of Athens, lost her life in a deadly pedestrian crash that occurred on the evening of April 25 near the intersection of Gaines School Road and Lexington Road.

Another pedestrian, 31-year-old Anthony Braxton, also of Athens, later died from injuries sustained in the same incident.

Authorities from the Athens-Clarke County Police Department have charged 62-year-old Lois Dua of Bogart in connection with the crash. Dua, who was unharmed, now faces two counts of failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk and second-degree vehicular homicide.

According to investigators, Morgan died at the scene, while Braxton was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
