Donald Stewart dies in fatal Pleasant Township car crash

Fatal Pleasant Township car crash death of Donald Stewart – Obituary

Donald Stewart, a 59-year-old man from Kouts, lost his life Wednesday evening following a head-on collision on State Road 8 near County Road 450 E in Pleasant Township, authorities confirmed.

The Lake County Coroner’s Office stated that an autopsy conducted Thursday revealed Stewart died from multiple blunt force injuries. The crash occurred when a Ford minivan, traveling eastbound, veered into the westbound lane and collided with Stewart’s Jeep SUV.

Emergency personnel responded to the crash scene at approximately 4:51 p.m., and Stewart was transported to Franciscan Health Crown Point. He passed away from his injuries just before 6 p.m. His death has been officially classified as accidental.

The driver of the minivan also sustained injuries and was taken to a hospital. The current condition of that driver has not been released. The Porter County Crash Unit is actively investigating the incident.
