Fatal Turtlecreek Township motorcycle crash death of Mathew Schmitz – Obituary

A motorcycle crash in Turtlecreek Township, Ohio, claimed the life of 26-year-old Mathew Schmitz of Fairfield Township on Wednesday evening.

Authorities reported the accident occurred at 8:32 p.m. on North Waynesville Road. Schmitz was operating a 2000 Honda CBR-600 motorcycle when he failed to navigate a curve in the road. The bike veered off the right side of the roadway, hitting a ditch before colliding with a tree.

Schmitz, who was the only person on the motorcycle and was wearing a helmet, was declared deceased at the scene.

Investigators are still working to determine the full circumstances surrounding the crash.
