Fatal Gwinnett County shooting death of Andre Jones

A deadly shooting late Tuesday night in Gwinnett County has claimed the life of 29-year-old Andre Jones, according to local authorities.

Police were dispatched around 11:47 p.m. on June 17 to the 6100 block of Dawson Boulevard following reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, officers found Jones suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. He was transported to a hospital but later died from his injuries.

During the investigation, a second individual—a woman with a gunshot wound to the leg—was located by detectives. Authorities do not believe she was part of the initial conflict that led to the fatal shooting.

At this time, investigators have not identified a motive, and the case remains open as Gwinnett County Police Homicide detectives continue to pursue leads.
