Three individuals killed in a tragic two-vehicle collision in Ludlow Township have been officially identified. The Champaign County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the incident occurred Tuesday evening near the intersection of County Road 3500N and County Road 1600E.

Deputies reported a 62-year-old man from Paxton, operating a pickup truck, and a 56-year-old woman from Ludlow, driving the passenger car, were pronounced deceased at the scene. The Coroner’s Office identified them as Scott A. Meuser and Joyce R. Surratt respectively.

Further information revealed that a 30-year-old woman from Ludlow, also a passenger in Surratt’s vehicle, was transported to a nearby hospital but later succumbed to her injuries. The Coroner has officially named her Kelsey J. Greider.

Scheduled autopsies for all three victims are set to take place this week. The Champaign County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation into the cause of this devastating accident. Authorities implemented a temporary road closure for several hours to conduct essential accident reconstruction work.
