The fatal Lincoln car crash death of eighteen-year-old Karwan Breem

Lincoln police are investigating the deaths of two youths in a multiple vehicle accident on Monday afternoon. The Lincoln Public Schools system has confirmed the victims as siblings, Karwan Breem, eighteen, and fifteen-year-old Karolin Breem, both Lincoln residents.

Emergency dispatchers were alerted around 1:30 p.m. Monday by reports of a collision involving two motor vehicles along the Antelope Valley Parkway near Virginia Street in the northwest section of Lincoln. Initial police findings indicated that an 18-year-old Lincoln man, identified as Karwan Breem, was operating a red 2014 Cadillac ATS when he crossed into the opposite lane and sped past other cars. Due to a wet road surface, the vehicle lost traction, mounted the curb, and skidded across into the opposing traffic flow before striking a blue 2017 Nissan Frontier pickup truck driven by a nineteen-year-old Oklahoma resident.

Karwan Breem and his fifteen-year-old sister, Karolin, who was a passenger in the Cadillac, were transported to a local hospital following the collision. Tragically, both succumbed to their injuries. The driver of the pickup truck sustained injuries, though they were not severe enough to threaten life.

Due to the sensitivity of the situation, authorities have elected not to release the names of the victims at this time, expressing respect for their family. Lincoln Public Schools officials confirmed both individuals were enrolled students in the district and have offered support services to the families, extending their condolences to all affected.

The ongoing investigation into the incident by the Lincoln Police Department urges anyone with information about the crash or any available video footage from the time and location of the accident to come forward. Contact can be made with the Lincoln Police at 402-441-6000 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 402-475-3600.
