A 3-year-old nonverbal girl named Jacie Lee has died in Port Allen, Louisiana, after being discovered in a neighboring swimming pool. The incident occurred on Wednesday when the child went missing from her residence.

When authorities were notified about the missing child, search efforts commenced. Emergency personnel located Jacie Lee later that day in a nearby swimming pool. Responders retrieved the small girl from the water and transported her to the hospital, though unfortunately, she did not survive the injuries.

The West Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Department confirmed Jacie Lee was the individual involved and stated multiple law enforcement officers participated in the search for the missing child. According to investigators, the child was reported missing around 4 p.m. from her home on Willow Glen Avenue. She was found approximately 45 minutes later by a responding first responder.
