Clark County authorities have confirmed the identity of the individual who lost their life in the fatal collision involving a scooter and a medical transport vehicle on Monday. The deceased has been identified as Michael Ortiz, who was 50 years old and a resident of Las Vegas.

According to information released by Las Vegas police, Mr. Ortiz passed away as a result of the incident that occurred at the intersection where Boulder Highway transitions into Fremont Street. The crash happened near Sahara Avenue. The coroner’s office officially announced the identification of Mr. Ortiz on Tuesday.

Las Vegas police stated that the ambulance involved in the accident was en route to another location, with emergency signals activated. They reported that other vehicles stopped for the emergency vehicle at the scene. Details regarding the specific ambulance unit or the nature of the call it was responding to were not provided.
