Wyatt Braxton Young, 25, from Falkville, has been arrested for capital murder following a fatal shooting incident reported on Thursday morning.

Hartselle law enforcement confirmed that Wyatt Braxton Young is currently being held at the Morgan County Jail without the possibility of release.

Officials report that emergency dispatchers received a call around 9:00 a.m. concerning a man possibly armed with a weapon located at a residence on Stage Road. Before the officers arrived, reports indicated an argument was unfolding at that address and involved gunfire.

Upon their arrival, police encountered an unarmed man in the front yard who willingly assisted the responding officers.

Tragically, Nancy Deanne Sandlin Fox, identified as a resident of Hartselle who was 59 years old, was found deceased at the scene by the officers.

“As a single event with no ongoing danger to the public, this situation is being addressed,” stated a release from the Hartselle Police Department. “The Hartselle Police Department offers its sympathies to the family and friends of Ms. Fox during this challenging period.”
