Fatal Scarborough homicide death of David Foote
According to the Toronto police department, they have named the 62-year-old man who lost his life in what appears to be a murder-suicide event in Scarborough. David Foote, a local resident, was confirmed by authorities in a press statement released on Friday as the victim of a deliberate killing. His remains were discovered alongside those of a 67-year-old man inside a house located at the junction of Birchmount Road and Chelwood Drive, which is situated south of Eglinton East. This happened on Wednesday, the same day police were called to the scene.
Police indicated that the older man, who lived in the home, is now considered responsible for Foote’s death. Details from the agency show that officers were sent to the property around 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday due to a well-being check request from worried family members, who were concerned about both occupants. Upon arrival, the responding officers found both individuals with visible injuries. Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene. David Foote marks the eighteenth fatality in the city’s homicide cases for the year 2025.
