The victim, Mary Reese, who was 72 and lived in Herrin, died at the scene. Her husband was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and is currently in stable condition.

The accident occurred Wednesday at approximately 11:10 a.m. in the Jonathan Creek region of Kentucky Lake. Marshall County Coroner Kenny Pratt reported that one vessel capsized onto another during the collision. The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife is conducting a full investigation into the cause of the accident.

A post-mortem examination was performed on Thursday, though the official findings are still pending.
