Robert Spagnuolo, a seventy-year-old man, died as a result of a firework explosion in Wareham, Massachusetts.

Investigations by the Massachusetts State Police, the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office, and the State Fire Marshal’s Office are underway following an incident at 34 Beach Street. On July 5th at 9:19 p.m., Wareham authorities were dispatched to the location after receiving reports of a man injured by fireworks. Crews from the Wareham Fire and EMS departments arrived and found the victim. Emergency medical services pronounced Spagnuolo deceased at the scene.

Identified as Robert Spagnuolo, a resident of Wareham, officials contacted law enforcement and fire marshal teams. Following an initial assessment by bomb specialists to ensure the scene was safe from further risks, a joint investigation began. Interviews with witnesses and examination of the site led investigators to conclude that Spagnuolo was setting off fireworks when one device detonated violently, causing severe trauma. The Chief Medical Examiner’s Office has taken over the case to formally determine the cause and manner of death.
