Dallas, TX Woman Rashonda Lowe Arrested in Dallas for Fatal Mall Shooting
DALLAS, TEXAS  Rashonda Lowe, a 43-year-old resident of Dallas, was arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of 53-year-old Jaime Alejandro Rokkett at The Shops at RedBird.
According to the Dallas Police Department, Lowe was taken into custody on Tuesday after allegedly shooting Rokkett inside his store, Cookies N Smoothies, located at the Red Bird neighborhood mall. Authorities responded to the scene around 3:50 p.m. on July 1 and found Rokkett shot multiple times. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators revealed that security footage showed Lowe and Rokkett arguing for nearly an hour before she pulled out a firearm, shot him, and jumped over the counter to shoot several more times at close range. She then fled in a white SUV, which police later identified as registered to Lowe.
Police also learned from Rokkett’s wife that he had a restraining order against Lowe due to previous harassment.
Lowe later surrendered to Arlington police and admitted to being involved in a domestic dispute with her ex. She confirmed to officers that she had left the weapon at the scene.
Lowe was transported to the Dallas County Jail and is currently facing a murder charge related to the incident. As of Wednesday morning, her bail had not yet been set.
