Fatal Fremont train strike death of Mark Traver
Fremont authorities confirmed the death of Mark Traver, a 55-year-old male, after he was hit by a train while walking on railway tracks. The incident occurred in Fremont late on Monday evening. According to the local police chief, Traver was crossing the tracks just north of State Street before being struck.
The victim was located under the train by emergency responders. Despite their attempts to save him, Traver did not survive his injuries. The police department released a statement indicating that foul play was not suspected. They have scheduled an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
This incident is not the first fatal train crossing in Fremont this year. A separate tragedy involving a train strike occurred on May 18. In that event, a family from Fort Wayne, Indiana, consisting of two adults and a child, lost their lives. The family was reportedly on a fishing excursion when they were hit by a train on a nearby bridge.
The identified victims of that previous incident were O Ny Zar, aged 34, and her 50-year-old mother, Ram Ma San Be. Their 5-year-old daughter, Intisar Mi, was discovered the day after the accident. A 14-month-old granddaughter also sustained serious injuries. A nearby individual who witnessed the event managed to rescue the young girl.
