Old River-Winfree, Texas Man David Snapp Arrested in Chambers County for Killing Son-in-Law

OLD RIVER-WINFREE, TEXAS — David Snapp, a 63-year-old resident of Old River-Winfree, was arrested in Chambers County in connection with the fatal shooting of his son-in-law, Brian Yarbrough, on Tuesday night.

According to the Chambers County Sheriff’s Office, Snapp was taken into custody on Tuesday during a response to a reported shooting at a home in Old River-Winfree around 9:35 p.m. Deputies and Mont Belvieu Police officers arrived at the scene minutes after the incident and apprehended Snapp without incident.

Authorities say Yarbrough was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. Snapp, identified as Yarbrough’s father-in-law, has been charged with murder.

Snapp was booked into the Chambers County Jail and is currently being held on a $500,000 bond.
