Law enforcement personnel from the Pueblo Police Department (PPD) were dispatched to the 2400 block of Pine Street around midday on Sunday, June 29. The initial reason for the dispatch was a report concerning a potentially injured individual in that location. Upon arrival, responders discovered a female individual exhibiting signs of a firearm wound and pronounced her deceased at the scene.

Earlier media reports had briefly mentioned a person found deceased near I-25 under suspicious circumstances, though that specific incident was not the one occurring on Pine Street. The Pueblo County Coroner officially identified the deceased woman on Wednesday, July 2, as Victoria Brandon Delira-Alires, who was 39 years old and a resident of Pueblo.
