The fatal car crash death of full names of the victims was confirmed by police on Tuesday.
According to Santa Ana authorities, Delgado, who was 29, was driving against traffic at a high speed. He crashed into multiple vehicles. Police confirmed that Delgado, a 29-year-old, was driving the wrong way at a high rate of speed during the incident. He collided with three vehicles because other incoming cars managed to avoid the collision before Delgado hit three vehicles, according to police.
Also killed in this incident was Placencia Alvarado, a 32-year-old driver. Police reported that she was driving one of the vehicles struck by Delgado.
Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene by the responding officers, police stated.
Five passengers in a car that wasn’t involved in the collision were hospitalized with minor injuries. These passengers were aged 39, 19, 18, 11, and 1. They were treated for injuries described as non-life-threatening.
The accident occurred at Main Street and Warner Avenue around 6:40 p.m. Monday. Police said four cars were involved in the collision. Fortunately, no one in the fourth car, which wasn’t struck, was injured.
An investigation into the cause of this fatal accident is currently ongoing.
