Law enforcement officials reported the demise of 39-year-old Shaun M. Boker. He passed away subsequent to his capture in connection with a Virginia shooting incident that resulted in one woman’s death and injuries to two police officers. The Chesapeake, Virginia Police Department confirmed that Mr. Boker was apprehended by Portsmouth, Virginia police around 8:24 a.m. on Thursday. This arrest happened after a short encounter between Boker and officers. It was noted that during this brief standoff, the suspect received minor superficial lacerations to his arm.

Upon arrival at Maryview Hospital in Portsmouth, Boker received medical attention for his arm injuries. Following this, he was officially transferred over to the jurisdiction of the Chesapeake Police Department.

According to the Chesapeake Police Department, Mr. Boker faces accusations stemming from a shooting event that took place on Thursday, August 7, 2025. In that incident, he is charged with one count of first-degree murder, alongside two counts of attempted murder against law enforcement officers. Additionally, charges include three counts of firearm use in the commission of a felony and discharging a weapon within a populated structure.

The incident began on Wednesday night when Chesapeake police dispatched units to an apartment complex following reports of a domestic disturbance. Upon their arrival, officers located a female individual who was found to have suffered from gunshot injuries.
