Fatal Douglas shooting death of Jameria Studivent

According to reports from the Georgia law enforcement agency, an 18-year-old male has faced criminal charges following the unfortunate death of a young woman in Coffee County on August 7th. Prince Thomas, who goes by the nickname PJ, hailing from Douglas, was formally accused of felony murder, along with three counts of aggravated assault and a firearms-related offense.

Identified by the authorities as the deceased, Jameria Studivent was also 18 years of age. She was originally from Blackshear and had recently completed her secondary education at a local high school.

Law enforcement officials reported that Studivent was a passenger in an automobile at approximately 9:10 in the morning of Thursday, August 7th. The investigation, led by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, suggests Thomas perceived the vehicle as potentially suspicious and consequently opened fire from his property. This resulted in Studivent sustaining fatal injuries.

The incident took place on Miller Road. The authorities have indicated that there was no apparent trigger for Thomas’s actions. Further details provided by the law enforcement body reveal that Thomas had some prior acquaintance with another individual present in the car at the time.

Medical services were summoned to Coffee Regional Medical Center, where Studivent received treatment; unfortunately, she did not survive her injuries.

Separately, Thomas surrendered to the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office once he became aware of the law enforcement search for him. As a result, he is currently being held at the county detention facility.
