Fatal Lake Charles shooting death of Johnjose Connor Welsh

A young man, eighteen years old, is being charged with murder following a fatal shooting at a bar in Lake Charles. Dominic White, from Lake Charles, is the individual facing these accusations.

Deputy Chief Kevin Kirkum of the Lake Charles Police Department (LCPD) revealed that officers observed a large number of people gathered outside the On The Rocks bar located on McNeese Street shortly before 3 a.m. on August 2nd.

During this police operation to disperse the crowd, shots were discharged. Subsequently, police discovered Johnjose Connor Welsh, who was twenty years old, lying in the bar’s parking lot. He was transported to a local hospital but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries later that day.

The victim, known informally as Connor, was killed outside the Lake Charles bar on a Saturday evening. The family has been notified.

Lake Charles police identified White as the suspected shooter. They issued an arrest warrant for him on the day of the incident. Deputy Chief Kirkum confirmed that White was arrested on August 8th at a trailer park situated at the 3900 block of Gerstner Memorial Drive without encountering any issues.

White is scheduled to be processed into the Calcasieu Parish Correctional Center. His initial bond has been set at $650,000.
