Two individuals lost their lives on Thursday evening after a motor vehicle accident.

Taylor Steele, who was 28 years old and resided in Hennepin, was confirmed deceased at the scene according to the Bureau County Coroner’s Office. Howard Buckles, aged 62 and from Malden, died following transport to OSF HealthCare Saint Clare Medical Center in Princeton.

The collision occurred in the 2400 block of E Street, situated just north of U.S. Highway 6. The coroner’s office arrived at the scene at 8:42 p.m.

An autopsy and a mandatory toxicology examination are still pending for both individuals. The Bureau County Coroner’s Office and the Bureau County Sheriff’s Office are continuing their investigation into the incident.
