Tony O. Roberts Jr. dies in fatal Jasper car crash

Fatal Jasper car crash death of Tony O. Roberts Jr.

A collision involving two automobiles on Alabama 269 resulted in the death of a man from Parrish on Saturday. Tony O. Roberts Jr., who was 50 years old, suffered fatal injuries when his 1995 Chevrolet Metro struck a 2012 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Lee S. Hicks, who is 51 and also from Parrish.

Emergency responders confirmed that Roberts did not survive the injuries he sustained at the location of the incident. Lee S. Hicks was treated for injuries at Baptist Health Walker Hospital in Jasper.

Two individuals inside the other vehicle required medical attention. Jody H. Hicks, aged 19, and Jenna L. Hicks, who is 22, were taken to the hospital for evaluation.

The collision happened around 8:45 a.m. near the 39-mile marker, which is close to Jasper in Walker County.

Law enforcement officials are investigating the incident through the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division.
