Fatal Montgomery County car crash death of Patrick Smith
Authorities disclosed the identity of the deceased individual involved in a fatal collision near Brookeville. Montgomery County law enforcement confirmed the identity of the motorcyclist who died following a reported accident on the weekend.
Responding units arrived at the scene located in the 22000 block of New Hampshire Avenue shortly after 6:15 p.m. on August 9th. According to the Montgomery County Police Department’s official account, the individual operating the motorcycle was identified as Patrick Smith, aged 30, and was a resident of Bowie.
The investigation indicates that Mr. Smith was traveling northbound on New Hampshire Avenue on his 2006 Triumph Rocket III motorcycle when he reportedly lost control of his vehicle. This loss of control led to a collision with an oncoming BMW automobile that was moving southbound on the same roadway.
Efforts to save the motorcyclist were attempted by emergency medical services personnel who arrived at the scene, but unfortunately, Mr. Smith did not survive his injuries and passed away as a result of the collision.
The driver of the involved BMW vehicle, who was traveling southbound, was reported to be uninjured and not involved in the subsequent investigation.
