Fatal Fitchburg car crash death of Troy G. Lepien

Dane County officials have confirmed that the individual killed when a motorcycle collided with an SUV in Fitchburg last week was Troy G. Lepien, who was 54 years old and lived in Verona.

Preliminary examination results from the medical examiner’s office indicate that Lepien’s death was directly caused by the injuries he received during the collision.

According to the Fitchburg police department, responding officers arrived at the scene around 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 7. The crash happened on South Seminole Highway, specifically in the 2600 block, located on the northern part of the city.

Initial information gathered by the authorities suggests Lepien was traveling north on the road when he made contact with the vehicle ahead. The injuries he sustained were serious enough to threaten his life, and unfortunately, he passed away at the hospital where he was taken.

The police authorities did not release any statements regarding the extent of injuries to the occupants of the SUV involved in the accident.
