Fatal Wichita, Kan. incident involving a semitruck death of Abdelmuttalib Mohammed.
According to reports from the Wichita Police Department, the 57-year-old victim was identified during the investigation. Emergency medical services declared him deceased shortly after 5:30 p.m. on the day of the incident following their arrival at the scene.
It appears the deceased man was involved in a verbal disagreement with the truck driver before the collision, as stated by responding officers. The suspect in this case is a 46-year-old identified as Travis Briscoe. Preliminary findings suggest Briscoe was reversing a semi-trailer and inadvertently collided with the victim.
Wichita police indicated the two individuals did not have a prior relationship and the reason for the initial argument was not immediately clear to investigators. Sedgwick County authorities confirmed Briscoe was subsequently taken into custody and formally charged with second-degree murder at the Sedgwick County Jail.
This ongoing matter is currently being examined by the Wichita Police Department.
