A fatal traffic accident involving a rollover occurred in Brownsville on Tuesday, resulting in the death of a 17-year-old individual, as reported by the Texas Department of Public Safety. The deceased has been identified as Angel Flores, according to DPS sources. The incident took place on State Highway 100 near San Roman Road and Old Port Isabel Road.

A 17-year-old female companion in the vehicle suffered injuries requiring hospitalization, but her condition was not considered critical. Both individuals involved were students attending the Los Fresnos Consolidated Independent School District.

The crash happened in the afternoon, following 12:30 p.m. An investigation is currently underway. DPS reported that a black Ford Ranger, which included both the driver and Angel Flores, was traveling at an unsafe speed. It subsequently hydroplaned and overturned. The driver sustained minor injuries and was discharged from the hospital.
