Fatal Wakefield car crash death of Charles Lee Mixell

Virginia State Police reported that a local man has died following a fatal truck overturn. The incident occurred on August 14.

The accident took place at approximately 1:45 p.m. on Birch Island Road near Wakefield. According to police, the pickup truck was traveling northbound and departed the roadway. The vehicle then collided with multiple trees after veering off to the right side of the road.

The identified driver was Charles Lee Mixell, who was 62 years old and resided in the 200 block of Fleetwood Avenue. State Police confirmed that Mr. Mixell was pronounced deceased at the scene of the accident.

Birch Island Road was closed for several hours due to the crash scene. An ongoing investigation is currently being conducted by the authorities.
