Fatal Perak accident death of Constable Muhammad Hakim Danial Ruhiman
A law enforcement officer lost his life following a collision involving his motorcycle and a large truck along the Jalan Ipoh–Butterworth route, close to Taman Selinsing Indah in Bagan Serai, on Wednesday night. The incident occurred while the 23-year-old constable from the Bagan Serai Police Station was heading toward Taiping. It is believed that the motorcycle lightly touched the lorry, causing the officer to be thrown from his vehicle and onto the roadway. The lorry involved in the crash departed the scene without stopping, according to the Perak director of police. Upon arrival, investigators found no signs of the truck and gathered no clear descriptions from any witnesses who were present at the time of the crash.
Muhammad Hakim sustained severe wounds to his lower back and legs. He was quickly transported to Taiping Hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries during medical treatment. Law enforcement is currently examining footage from security cameras and dashboards of nearby cars to determine which truck was involved and identify its operator. The investigating officer, Insp Nur Hafilah Mohd Ibrahim, has requested that anyone with relevant information contact him at 019-472 0231. The incident is under investigation for potential reckless driving under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, with tags indicating it was a hit-and-run accident, road mishap, and fatal collision.
