North Kansas City authorities arrested Ray Von McCall, a 37-year-old man, on August 12nd. The arrest was linked to a homicide investigation.
Prosecutors formally charged McCall on August 11th, only hours after investigators publicly identified him as the suspect in the shooting.
Around 2:57 p.m. on that date, police from the North Kansas City Police Department were dispatched to multiple emergency calls. The reports indicated a disturbance on Highway 210, near I-35, in the North Kansas City area.
Upon their arrival, officers confirmed that a shooting had occurred. According to the official release, the victim, identified as Deandre Ferguson, who was 33 years old, was taken to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
To investigate further, the Metro Squad was assembled. They focused on various leads related to the case and examined surveillance footage from North Kansas City cameras.
According to a report from 41 KSHB, the footage showed McCall, a native of Mobile, conversing with Ferguson while both remained inside their respective vehicles. McCall then maneuvered his vehicle in front of Ferguson’s, leaned out his window with a weapon in his left hand, and fired multiple shots at Ferguson’s car.
