The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s office identified the deceased as Eric Yanez Jr., whose death was attributed to blunt force trauma resulting from an accident.

According to a sergeant present at the scene, Yanez died around 8:30 p.m. on Saturday following a collision on Marbach Avenue.

The incident occurred when Yanez, operating a dirt bike, attempted to pass a pickup truck. He then swerved back into the same lane and struck the vehicle.

Police confirmed Yanez was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. The possibility of speeding could not be determined, though the sergeant highlighted the danger posed by such accidents, especially without head protection.

The sergeant also mentioned that a dirt bike is unsuitable for a residential road. A teenage boy was a passenger on the bike but suffered minor injuries.
