Fatal Bakersfield off-road vehicle crash death of Hector Javier De Leon-Saldana

The Kern County Coroner’s Office has confirmed the identity of the man who died after an off-road vehicle accident in Bakersfield.

Officials state that Hector Javier De Leon-Saldana, who was 32 years old and originally from Bell Gardens, passed away on Sunday. The fatal incident occurred in an off-road vehicle accident located near Edison Road, north of Barbela Avenue.

De Leon-Saldana had been employed by the Los Angeles Police Department. He was most recently assigned to the Wilshire Division, according to the LAPD.

The department shared a social media post, stating that he leaves behind his partner named Dulce, their two-year-old son named Gael, and his parents and siblings.

The LAPD described Hector as more than just a member of the police force. They said he was a source of warmth and support for everyone who knew him. His presence was said to brighten every room, his laughter was infectious, and his commitment to both his job and personal relationships was exceptional.
