Fatal Linn County motorcycle crash death of Jan Dwight McSilvers

Oregon State Police have confirmed the death of a 72-year-old Springfield resident, identified as Jan Dwight McSilvers, following a serious motorcycle collision. The incident occurred at the junction of Highway 126 and US-20 in Linn County on August 13th.

Reports indicate the motorcyclist lost control while navigating a curve, departing the road around 10:40 a.m. According to authorities, Mr. McSilvers’ motorcycle overturned on top of him shortly after leaving the roadway. First responders pronounced the man deceased at the scene.

The Oregon State Police mentioned that the highway was subsequently closed for roughly one hour to allow for their investigation. The official cause of the motorcycle crash is currently being looked into by the authorities.
