Fatal Slidell car crash death of Jeremiah Ramirez
A 6-year-old boy from Slidell has died following an alleged hit-and-run collision Wednesday evening.
Slidell law enforcement reported the fatal vehicular incident occurred around 6 p.m. on Northshore Lane.
According to police, the minor was operating a scooter within his driveway when the vehicle collided with him and departed the scene without rendering aid.
The decedent was identified as Jeremiah Ramirez.
Jeremiah Ramirez was transported to a local medical facility by his mother but succumbed to his injuries.
The suspect vehicle, a 2022 Gray Chevrolet Suburban, was located on East Gause Boulevard that same evening.
Law enforcement apprehended the driver, a 35-year-old individual named Cody Michael Beaudette.
Cody Michael Beaudette was taken into custody.
Beaudette was formally charged and transported to the St. Tammany Parish Correctional Center. The charges filed against him include vehicular homicide, negligent driving, a hit-and-run resulting in death or serious harm, and driving with a suspended license.
