Fatal Idaho Falls motorcycle crash death of Jeremy Paul Hurst

A 49-year-old man from Madison County has tragically passed away following a severe motorcycle collision on East 160th Street close to the Old Ririe Highway. The motorcyclist, identified officially as Jeremy Paul Hurst, was pronounced deceased at the scene after his bike collided with a parked waste truck.

Emergency services including deputies from the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office, Idaho Falls Ambulance personnel, and Jefferson Central Fire were dispatched to the location around midday. Responders found the motorcyclist trapped beneath the vehicle and initiated rescue operations. Air Idaho Rescue personnel were brought in to aid in the extraction. Despite these intensive efforts to provide aid, Hurst eventually succumbed to his serious injuries.

Preliminary information from the Sheriff’s Office indicates that Hurst was heading north on East 160th Street when he failed to spot the parked truck in time to avoid the impact. Eyewitnesses stated that Hurst’s motorcycle was laid flat just before the crash. It is reported that Hurst was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, and no other people were reported to be hurt.

The Bonneville County Sheriff’s Deputies are continuing their investigation into the incident.
