Fatal Chula Vista car crash death of Juanito Muyco and Michael Baril

The inhabitants of Chula Vista are deeply saddened by the tragic auto accident that occurred on Monday night, resulting in the loss of two lives as the individuals were en route from a place of worship. Journalists associated with NBC 7 have reported on the community’s emotions and comments from people who were acquainted with those who perished.

The authorities in Chula Vista have confirmed the identities of the two males who were killed in the collision. According to the medical examiner’s office, Juanito Muyco, aged 76, and Michael Baril, who was 75 years old, were residents of the Chula Vista area.

These two men were involved in a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Apache Drive and Telegraph Canyon Road around 8 p.m. on Monday, as stated by Chula Vista law enforcement. They were in the process of returning home from a church activity when the incident happened.

The Subaru Forester, driven by Baril, was moving eastbound on Telegraph Canyon Road and turned left onto Apache Drive. At that moment, a red Ford Mustang, traveling westbound on Telegraph, collided with the side of the Subaru, as reported by the Chula Vista Police Department.

The impact caused the Subaru to flip over, and all four people inside were confined within the vehicle, necessitating the use of cutting tools by emergency responders to rescue the occupants.

In the same car as the deceased and the injured parties were the two women, both in their sixties, who were transported to a medical facility. The driver of the Mustang, a man in his early forties, was also taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries and is assisting with the ongoing investigation.
