Fatal Baton Rouge car crash death of Cody Pounds

A severe one-car accident on I-10 close to the Louise Street exit is being looked into by the Baton Rouge Police Department. This incident led to a tragic loss of life.

The accident took place at approximately 2:28 in the early morning hours of Saturday, the 16th of August.

According to the investigators, the operator of a 2021 model Dodge Durango made a misjudged maneuver to exit the highway. The vehicle then collided with energy absorption barriers and a solid concrete edge, resulting in it departing the elevated roadway.

Cody Pounds, who was 34 years of age and was listed as the front passenger, was pronounced deceased at the scene by the emergency medical services. The person who was driving the Durango was transported to a regional hospital, where they were in a serious condition.
