Gerardo Carreno-Rojas Dies in Fatal Willcox Stabbing
Fatal Willcox Stabbing Death of Gerardo Carreno-Rojas
The Willcox law enforcement agency announced an apprehension concerning a fatal stabbing that took place within a Willcox park.
According to the Willcox Police Department, emergency responders were dispatched on the early morning hours of August 17, 2025, due to reports of a stabbing at Kieller Park.
Upon arrival, first responders encountered a man who had suffered multiple stab wounds. Medical personnel performed life-saving procedures at the scene.
The injured individual was transported to Northern Cochise Community Hospital. Regrettably, despite the hospital’s best efforts, the man succumbed to his injuries.
The deceased man, identified as Gerardo Carreno-Rojas, was 54 years old and originally from California.
During their preliminary investigation, authorities spoke with a person who came forward as a witness. Further examination of the case led law enforcement to identify this witness as the chief suspect. The suspect confessed to the stabbing incident. Police located the suspected weapon during the course of their search, and it was allegedly found in the suspect’s custody.
The suspect was taken into custody and officially processed at the Cochise County Jail. Charges brought against him include murder in the first degree.
