Fatal St. Lucie County car crash death of Harjinder Singh

Law enforcement sources indicate that a 28-year-old man from California is currently facing criminal homicide charges following a fatal truck accident in St. Lucie County on Tuesday. According to reports from WFLA.

The individual identified as Harjinder Singh was driving a large semi-trailer truck on the Florida Turnpike within St. Lucie County when Florida Highway Patrol troopers reported he attempted an illegal U-turn at a designated turnaround point. The specific location had a clearly posted prohibition against U-turns, with signs explicitly stating “official use only,” as stated by WFLA.

This unauthorized maneuver resulted in Singh blocking all northbound lanes, creating a dangerous situation for other drivers. A minivan traveling in the affected lane was allegedly unable to decelerate in time and was subsequently struck by the maneuvering truck, according to the information provided.

The crash led to the immediate deaths of the two passengers inside the minivan, while the minivan’s driver succumbed to their injuries at the hospital. WFLA reports detailed that Singh’s truck driver’s license was found to be invalid when investigators from the Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) examined the case.

Further investigation revealed that Singh had entered the United States illegally in 2018 by crossing the Mexican border without authorization. According to the FLHSMV findings, Singh has been formally charged with three counts of vehicular homicide. He is currently being held in the custody of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) as reported by WFLA.
