The Door County Sheriff’s Office announced additional findings concerning the Tuesday death examination at Peninsula State Park. Carol A. Peterson, who was 61 years old, was located by rescuers near the Nicolet Bay Campground shortly before 8:15 a.m. on Tuesday. An autopsy was conducted by the Brown County Medical Examiner’s Office on Peterson’s body on Wednesday, with the preliminary findings still pending. Consequently, the circumstances surrounding Peterson’s death are still being examined, and no extra information is currently available.
