Cesar Humberto Pena dies in fatal Taylors car crash

Fatal Taylors car crash death of Cesar Humberto Pena

Authorities with the Greenville County Coroner’s Office have officially identified the individual who was killed when struck by a pickup truck in Taylors on Thursday. The accident is currently under investigation.

According to reports from the authorities, the collision occurred near the intersection of East North Street and Terramont Drive at approximately 5:20 p.m. Officials stated that the victim, Cesar Humberto Pena, was involved in directing traffic for his work at the time of the incident. He was reportedly wearing a reflective garment.

Emergency services transported the victim to Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital. Tragically, medical personnel declared him deceased at 7:52 p.m. the same evening.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol has confirmed that the driver responsible for striking Mr. Pena has been identified. However, they have indicated that no charges have been filed at this time.

Both the Greenville County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol are continuing their examination of the accident.
