Fatal Shreveport shooting death of Labriesha Patterson

The Caddo Parish Coroner’s Office officially identified the individual killed in an incident on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive during the latter part of Monday, August 18. This 28-year-old woman, named Labriesha Patterson, was shot multiple times while driving along MLK Drive, with the suspect’s vehicle passing by her. The fatal shooting took place shortly before the evening hour of 10:30 p.m.

Patterson was transported by emergency services to Ochsner LSU Health, where medical personnel confirmed her death at 11:07 p.m. Following an autopsy and ongoing probe, the authorities have recorded this tragic event as the 29th fatality in Caddo Parish during the year 2025, and the 24th in Shreveport specifically.

According to the official findings from the Caddo Parish Coroner’s Office, the incident remains under active investigation by the Shreveport Police Department as they work to determine the full circumstances surrounding Ms. Patterson’s death.
