A pedestrian met his untimely demise after being struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run collision on Sunday night.

Memphis authorities report responding to a pedestrian crash around 11:40 p.m. just before midnight.

Upon their arrival, officers discovered a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle while assisting another driver in the northbound lanes of Lamar Avenue, south of American Way.

The driver involved fled the scene on Lamar Avenue through the intersection with American Way.

The pedestrian, identified as Marcus Johnson, was transported to the hospital in critical condition due to his injuries.

Regrettably, his injuries proved fatal, leading to his death.

Police have released details about the potential vehicle involved in the incident.

They believe the vehicle could be a silver or gray Nissan Armada.

The car is said to have damage to its front passenger side and be missing the passenger-side mirror.
