Fatal Albemarle County car crash death of Michael D. Venezian
A man in his mid-fourties met his end when he was run over by a motor vehicle on a Sunday afternoon. The event occurred on a roadway known as Monacan Trail Road, which is also part of U.S. 29, at approximately half past five in the evening. The precise spot was situated roughly a quarter-mile off the nearby interstate highway, I-64.
According to an official bulletin released on August seventeenth, emergency medical technicians arrived at the scene to find a male individual, who was critically injured, with the injuries directly linked to being hit by a car. Subsequently, this man was rushed to the medical facilities at UVA Health for urgent treatment, though updates later confirmed he was not expected to survive.
On the following day, the local police department disclosed that Mr. Venezian had passed away due to the injuries suffered in that incident. Authorities are in the process of investigating and are seeking the individual who was behind the wheel at the time of the collision and then drove away from the scene without stopping. They are urging anyone who was operating a vehicle in the vicinity during that period to review their vehicle’s recording device for any footage that might provide clues, as the only details about the car involved are that it might show signs of damage.
A spokesperson for the Albemarle Police, identified as Logan Bogert, noted in a statement that this particular fatality marks the beginning of pedestrian deaths in the county for the current year. This determination was made because a death that was previously reported at Scottsville Center did not count as a public road fatality, as the incident happened on property that is not open to general public access.
