Phoenix police stated on Monday evening that a 4-year-old boy has died after a collision in the northern part of the city. The 12News app is available for download.
Authorities from the Phoenix police force were dispatched to a crash site located near 36th Street and McDowell Road on Monday night. Upon their arrival, officers discovered a young boy who was unresponsive and had been struck by a vehicle.
Emergency medical services transported the child to the hospital immediately. He arrived in critical condition, though unfortunately, further medical intervention was not successful.
Identified by the police as 4-year-old Miguel Dominguez, the child remains the victim in this incident.
The boy’s mother was reportedly hit by the same vehicle but sustained no injuries, police noted. According to the initial investigation, the child was walking just ahead of his mother in an intended pedestrian crossing area when the collision occurred.
The individual driving the automobile remained at the scene of the incident. Police have indicated that there is no preliminary indication to suggest impairment, such as alcohol or drug influence, was involved in this case.
