Brenham law enforcement officials have confirmed the identity of the individual involved in an incident under investigation, which authorities are now classifying as a fatal accident. This occurred during the previous week.
In an official statement released this morning (Wednesday), the local police department announced they were alerted shortly after 8:45 p.m. on Friday, August 15th. At that time, emergency services reported a collision between a motor vehicle and a person walking along the street, located at the busy junction of North Park Street and Northview Circle Drive.
According to police reports, the individual who was struck received prompt medical attention following the incident. Unfortunately, despite this intervention, the pedestrian, identified as 72-year-old Raymond Gibbs, who was a local resident of Brenham, later lost his life.
