A cyclist identified as Jackson Gartee has died following a collision in northeast Lincoln that occurred on Sunday. According to documents from the Lincoln Police Department, Gartee, who was operating a motorcycle, lost his life when his vehicle struck an SUV. The accident transpired before 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of 90th and Adams streets. The official report indicates that the driver of the northbound SUV, a woman from Lincoln, had stopped at the traffic light. Based on information from law enforcement, she observed the approaching motorcycle but assessed it was sufficiently distant to permit her crossing of Adams Street safely. Consequently, she proceeded into the intersection, resulting in the motorcycle colliding with her. The Lincoln Police Department reported that Gartee was traveling at a high speed prior to the crash. Eyewitness accounts, included in the crash documentation, estimated his speed to be 80 miles per hour.
