Fatal Crossville shooting death of Albert Sturgill Jr.

Crossville police are examining a shooting that took place downtown on Friday evening and have apprehended Eric Brandon Garrison as the individual responsible. The investigation stems from a shooting incident reported at the intersection of North Main Street and Fourth Street around 5:40 p.m. CDT.

Prior to the shooting, multiple 911 calls detailed an altercation. When the dispute intensified, it led to a physical confrontation which “ultimately resulted in a shooting.” Law enforcement arrived at the scene promptly, provided emergency medical care to the injured person, and secured the area.

The injured individual was transported to a local hospital and subsequently transferred to the University of Tennessee Medical Center. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation confirmed that the victim, identified as 63-year-old Albert Sturgill Jr., later succumbed to their injuries.
