Fatal SUSSEX COUNTY car crash death of Amaiya Andre’A Scott

State law enforcement authorities have officially identified the second individual who lost their life in a severe, head-on collision that resulted in the temporary closure of Route 460 throughout the county on Sunday, the eighteenth of August. This significant motor vehicle mishap caused considerable disruption to local traffic flow.

Dispatched to the accident scene at approximately 1:50 in the afternoon of that day were state troopers. According to preliminary findings from the investigation, the operator of a 2010 Ford Fusion was proceeding westbound along Route 460 when the vehicle deviated across the central divider and subsequently collided directly with a 2015 Jeep Patriot.

On the following day, officials from the state police agency confirmed that the operator of the Ford vehicle was identified as Amaiya Andre’A Scott, who was eighteen years old and a resident of Petersburg.

Shortly after making this identification, the state police force announced that the driver of the Jeep Patriot involved in the collision had been named. Tayvon Michael Dawson, aged twenty-seven and originally from Henrico, was identified as the operator of that vehicle.

There was a passenger situated within the Jeep automobile at the time of the collision. This individual was transported to a major medical center via air ambulance due to sustaining serious, life-endangering injuries. The state police division did not release any information regarding the current health status or condition of this passenger.
