Fatal Jefferson County shooting deaths of Angelicca Amber Newton and Samy Alberta Estrada-Flores.

On Monday, authorities from the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office confirmed that the two deceased individuals were identified as Angelicca Amber Newton, who was 29 years old and lived in Center Point, and Samy Alberta Estrada-Flores, who was 35 years old and resided in Birmingham.

Ms. Newton was killed about ten minutes before 10:30 a.m. on Thursday during a domestic conflict that occurred on Fifth Street North and Six Avenue North in Lipscomb. Alfred Lee Colvin III, aged 32, faces charges of capital murder in her death and was taken to the Jefferson County Jail around 5:00 p.m. on Friday, where he is currently being held without bail.

Mr. Estrada-Flores was killed in a shooting that took place in the early morning hours of Friday, and a second person was also harmed in the incident. Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the 4000 block of Pinson Valley Parkway at 12:19 a.m. on that day to respond to a call about a shooting. According to Sheriff’s spokesperson Henry Irby, the deputies found Mr. Estrada-Flores in a serious condition, and the Center Point Fire and Rescue Service later pronounced him dead at 12:23 a.m.

A 34-year-old female was taken to UAB Hospital after being injured, and officials stated she is expected to make a full recovery. No arrests have been made in connection with that shooting.
