Fatal Richmond shooting death of Gilberto DeJesus, III.

On the early morning hours of Saturday, August 23rd, emergency services were dispatched to a location on Chamberlayne Avenue in Richmond. The initial report indicated someone was injured by gunfire. Upon their arrival, police located a 33-year-old man inside a house. This man, identified as Gilberto DeJesus, III, was pronounced deceased due to gunshot wounds. Medical personnel transported DeJesus to a regional medical center, but he did not survive his injuries. His death subsequently occurred the following day, on Sunday, August 24th.
